rusty oil log what to do???

My black onyx head gaskets blew after 7-8k miles so me and two of my buddys are reolacing them with factory Ford gaskets. We r 5 hours into the jjob and pulled the heads last night. The problem is this. The first thing iI saw when I removed the valvecovers was a rusty oil log! What would u do? Wire wheel it or leave it? I really don't want that rust circulating thru my motor. Sorry for any misspelled words or typing errors. I am on break at work and trging tto get it all typed out before break is over. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!rusty oil log what to do???-20130406_201730.jpg
