I know a short caused a blown fuse, but has anyone experienced the #45 fuse going out? When it does you loose all the gages in the Instrument panel, (Speed, Tach, Fuel, Oil, Odometer etc.) Sometimes 3 or 4 times a day some days nothing!! Tried a 15 amp and it still goes out.... It does not seem to matter if you are running down the road at speed or just getting up to speed. I can't get it to do it when I am wiggling wires or shaking the truck myself.
Any ideas where to look?? Errrr.... 2003 F250 SD 6.0L with 164K miles. Thanks in advance!! Jim. |

No wiring mods.... I did have the truck worked on recently where they pulled the cab off.... Wondering if a wire could have been pinched etc.? But the fuse did blow once prior to the work being done..... does anyone know what exactly runs through the #45 Fuse circuit??? Also waiting to here from the Dealer on that same question. JG. |

Fixed problem...
To make a long story short, the problem was with the Tow/Haul switch wiring. It had rubbed through and was grounding where the shift lever connects under the steering column cover.
Throughly taped the area and all is well now! So if you have his problem look there first... Later... JG. |
