Cruise control has hard kick using brake or the off button!

No matter what I do to get cruise to cut off it feels like someone just rear ended me. The only way I can disengauge it easily is to speed up the cut it off. Anyone have any ideas what's up or is this normal.

Is it tuned? I have a tune that keeps the torque convertor locked in overdrive. I get a good thump from the drive train when I take it out of cruise by using the brake or the off button.

If you find a tuner that can program the overdrive lock, but allow the torque converter to just unlock when you turn off the cruise or touch the brake please send me a pm.
