High idle ??????

04 6.0 idles high around 1000 to 1200 rpms at idle .the truck runs great seems like it has gained power keep in mind the truck is stock never seen any aftermarket parts other than I put a straight pipe on it. It black smokes more than normal now when accelerating no service engine light and not throwing any codes ... Any ideas??????

Perfectly normal.

Reference here: Idle nearly 1000rpm's by itself?

My truck does it as well. Gotta love winter.

It's been almost 2 weeks since it has started its d has not quit ... Nothing happens when u hit ur brake
