6.0 Quit Running

Hello all! My dad bought a 6.0 f-350.. He bought it used and it usually runs fine untill now..

One day I was with him and we pulled out of our driveway down the hill we live on and at the bottom (about 3 minutes) The truck wouldnt move.. Hit the pedal and nothing. Pulled off the road shut off and it was a bear to get running. Finally got it running and it ran fine after that!

Then he left work yesterday and the truck did the same thing.. Said he let it sit for 5 min and after a while it started and ran fine.

He had it out this morning and after church it was at warmed up and he drove about 10 miles. It shut off. He got it started and it idled then shut off. Let it sit and it started again. Reved it up and it had power reved fine and it died..... My dad owns a repair garage but we dont work on diesels. I own a tow truck so I picked it up and took it to work


Anyways.. Any idea what it could be? Anything we can look at? My buddy works on 6.0s alot so worse case I can take it to him.
