2003 F350 DRW 6.0 Shakes violently above 45MPH
Hello all. Been lurking the board for sometime now and just recently picked up a 2003 F350 Crew Cab Dually with the 6.0. This is my second PSD (my first being a '99 F350 CC dually with the 7.3).
When I test drove this vehicle, the currently owner warned me that it "shakes". My 7.3 had the death wobble, so I automatically thought that is what he was referring to, after my short test drive, in which I only took the vehicle to about 45, I ponied up the cash. After *attempting* to bring the vehicle home, all went well untill I hit approximately 47MPH. The minor vibration became a horrible, eyeball rattling (literally the numbers on the instrument cluster were unreadable), death box. Tires look fine, though the steering wheel seems to be a bit out of alignment. Shaking gets increasingly worse with speed (undriveable past 55) Any ideas where to start looking, and what specifically to look for on this truck? Thanks in advance! again the truck is a 2003 F350 Dually Crew Cab, 150K Miles, 6.0PSD, Auto. No CEL lit. |

Will it clear up if you floor it? Do you have a monitor? These trucks store codes.
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |

Problem's been resolved - Tire related! Only thing I have is my SCT Programmer for my Mustang - I know it'll read all Ford codes for the similar years but dunno if it'll do Diesels. |

Thanks for the update, you still should get a monitor on that truck........Write Up: Monitoring the 6.0L PSD.

That must have been one heck of a lot of rubber missing!

I had this problem on my 05 6.0. I replaced darn near every suspension component under other peoples recomendation. Cost an arm and leg with out any fix. I had the briliant idea to get the tires re-balanced, problem solved.
