So both of my up pipes are cracked

The other day I started the truck and noticed a wicked buzzing noise associated with a low frequency vibration. Pushing the accelerator momentarily made the noise and vibration go away. Driving home last night I detected a very faint huffing noise, similar to an exhaust leak. I know the sound well, I had two 5.4 F150's with blown manifold gaskets.

Took some hunting with a mechanic's stethoscope but I narrowed it down to an up pipe going to the turbo.

Now I have an IPR egr delete but opted for the plate block off kit rather than the replacement up pipe. Is that the pipe that tends to crack most often, or do I need to scour the junkyard and look online for a replacement assembly? (similar to the photo below)

It's too hard to say, it could be any of the 3 flex joints.

5C3Z-6K854-CA is the part number for the Y-pipe. If you do decide to dig in I would opt for an EGR delete up-pipe just for the reliability aspect.

Just for information purposes the 04 EGR up-pipe (no-scoop) can be blocked with no sacrifice in exhaust flow. The part number for it is 4C3Z-6K854-BA. It may or may not be cheaper than an EGR delete up-pipe depending on where you get it from. This is the pipe I run with it blocked off like you have.

Well, bad news for me. Both the EGR up pipe flex joint AND the driver side flex joint are cracked. Already ordered and received the proper EGR delete pipe.

I see Rudy's and Sinister have heavy duty pipes available at a premium, price, are they worth it?? Tasca Ford has the OEM stuff for $155 + $20 shipping.
