4" exhaust problems
I have an 03 F250 6.0L. After replacing the stock exhaust with a 4" turbo back exhaust the check engine light came on while towing my 5th wheel also suffered power loss. I was able to reset the light when not towing, runs great. Took it in for recall # 06E17, since then I can't reset the check engine light, still have loss of power and exhaust does not sound the same. Dealer said the 4" exhaust was the problem code P0401. Anyone know what's going on?

Excuse me??????????????????????? All diesel engines are compression ignition. ![]() I'm sure you mis spoke there. The backpressure is the issue. Some believe (and the dealers are those "some") that backpressure in the exhaust is needed on the 6.0 for some reason. Others say this isn't true. |
