Changed HFCM filter now being fuel starved??

Ok so I just changed my HFCM filter and started truck with no problem. But about 1 minute into running you could here it slowly dying out as if it was being starved for fuel. Now the cap was so tight I did try to force it back flush lip to lip could that be allowing air into system causing my problem?

Did you wait with the key on for the fuel bowl to fill up? After a filter change, I wait until I hear the fuel pump shut off before starting. When I recently changed the entire HFCM, I turned the key on, waited until my psi gauge moved up to 60, turned key off, then did it again. The second time it went up to 60, hovered, then to zero as advertised.

These filter caps don't need gorilla torque to not leak. A little Vaseline around the o-ring and a snug is all that I have ever needed. Although NOT changing the o ring made for a geyser once.

Yeah I appreciate the response but stupid asses at auto parts store give me wrong filter. Me being a dumbass also didn't know any better but learned the hard way. It was motorcraft filter set but had the O ringed filter for the HFCM. I got her up and running...THanks
