my question is if your having a prob that could possibly be the egr cooler. would unpluging the egr and getting a cooler block off plate solve all the problems i read about involving the egr and cooler and all truck is a 2004 F-350 6.0 with 50,000 miles. all stock for now

Take it to the dealer and have them replace it under the 100k engine warranty. Chances are you also have a bad oil cooler, IF your EGR cooler is bad. Then, install the block off plate and don't worry about disconnecting your EGR valve.
