Popping Sound from Under Hood

Hi All,

I've owned my truck since last May, it's a 2005 F350 FX4 with the 6.0.
Ocassionaly as I lift off of the accelerator, I'll here a "pop" from under the hood. I noticed it last night again so I figured I would post the problem to see if anyone has any ideas. It sounds like it may be coming from the air intake (which is stock). Mods to truck are jsut some guages and an exhaust.

The noise is not constant, just the one time when I lift off of the go pedal.

The truck has 85,000 miles and it is a remanufactured engine that was put in when the truck has about 25k on it. I've had zero other issues with the truck, other than some blue smoke on startup when its cold and fairly porr fule mileage!

I need to record it while I'm driving. It's like a muffled pop, pop, pop.
Almost seems like pressure getting pushed back thru the air box.

Sounds like turbo fart, maybe your turbo vanes are sticking. When was the last time your turbo was serviced?

When you let off gas quickly the turbo can push air back thru the intake, this is a turbo fart. U could check out turbo fart videos on you tube and see it matches your problem. Very common on 6.0s
