04 F250 6.0 Cold start trouble

Upon starting truck extremely rough idle and no power until full warm up but still has a small hick up every once in a while. change oil regularly and have changed both fuel filters. it acts like a injector but this is my first diesel truck? the truck has 70k miles with automatic. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

You should still be under the 5 yr/100k mile warranty. Take it to a dealer and tell them you have cold start issues. They should install the latest flash which will take care of most of your problems.

If the new flash doesnt fix every thing they should run a injector cut out test and replace any weak injectors. 99 times out of 100 this condition is caused by a weak injector some of the time the new flash will fix it but some times you will have to replace the injector(s). But if you are still under warranty it should all be covered so you shouldnt have to worry. Also was there any rust of other trash visible in eiter filter?

My truck has 166k miles on it and it would run like complete crap when I first started it in the morning and until it warmed up that was how it was. After the updated flash I had done last week it feels great on start up and doesn't feel like it is firing on less than 8 cylinders.
