water in fuel

this is the second time this has happened to me. i was at my girlfreinds house and i drained the water. her dad said that when he had to do this on his older cummins that he had to change the fuel filter as well. do i have to do this on the powerstroke or is draining all i have to do?

No, you don't have to change the fuel filter, but it's a very good thing to do every 10 or 15K miles anyway. MAX 15K. With the quality of today's fuel I usually don't go over 10K.

IIRC you do have to or it's suggested to.

Everytime you reach a point needing to drain it you should change the filer too.
