URGENT!!! NEED HELP!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get my EGR off to clean it before it gets dark outside...I have the two bolts removed, but it's stuck on there...anyone know any tricks to get it off? We have been trying with some channel locks, but all it's doing is scratching the egr valve...lol. PLEASE HELP!!!

Check that out I hope it helps. Im not sure but I think i've heard people talk bout using a crow bar to get it loose.

We just tried that...it seems like it's just bending the edges...any other ideas?

I was reading this other post about unplugging it or blocking it off all together actually being better for the motor. Do you think unplugging it until I can take it to a shop will cause any problems? It should just have the same effect as blocking it off or removing it all together...right?

duh...i posted the c lock thing...two small nail pullers/pry bars right under the ears also works...
if you unplug it you'll get a CES light but it won't hurt anything...
the point of blocking it off is to block it off at the up pipe so the hot exhaust gasses never get to the EGR cooler...helps to keep the coolant from flash boiling when the EGT's are HIGH...

We tried that...but it didn't really work too well. All it was doing was scratching the valve. Maybe we just need some extra elbow grease...

I think unplugging it will through a code. Not sure though.

if all else fails there is an EGR puller available from Ford...it aint cheap, but you could rent it to your friends when you don't need it..LOL

I read a few posts up that the 03's dont throw codes for that...it should only be till the 15th
