Another P2290 Thread
I am starting this thread because I am stumped. I am working on a buddys 03 that had a massive loss of power. Did all the standard tests and monitored icp and ipr. Truck has 175k on it. Performend air test to HPO system. Found leaking pump. Replaced pump, and IPR. Road tested and found truck reacts alot better then before, but past 1/2 throttle it falls on its face. Desired and actual stay equal until 1/2 throttle after that the actual falls off.
WOT: IPR85% ICP desired 4600 Icp actual 1985 The ICP sensor and pigtail were replaced by ford 1 month ago. Cant find any leaks in the system. Truck starts great and runs smooth. Need help with this one if anybody has any ideas. |

Try tuning it back to stock and see what happens.

Trash in the ipr, screen torn?
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |

IPR is brand new and there was no trash in the screen that came out.
There is no tuner or chip on the truck. It is stock. |

All filters were changed at time of job. The IPR was removed after the job was done to inspect. Still no trash. New one installed no change in top end power. Fuel pressure was checked before the job and found to jump from 45-60. The dealer did a blue spring upgrade when they changed the oil cooler and egr. The regulator made noise so we put a new blue kit in and noticed the o-ring was installed wrong fromt the dealer. Now PSI is 60 and steady.

I wonder if the orings on the standpipe, or the stc fittings on the high pressure hoses are bad. You have a hpop leak somewhere, the shop air test does not compare to the 600-4000 psi your system can see. Shop air test is for large leaks only. Fixing one leak, may produce another in a weaker part of the system. How that helps.

Thats where I am going to go next. I have extra stand pipes I am just going to put in. Just trying to figure out the best way to find the leak. The only thing I can think is running her with the valve covers off, and hope I get luck to find it.

HPOP discharge tubes were known to rub HPOP cover causing leaks in the tube. Had this same issue myself, caused the same issues your experiencing. New discharge tube upgraded HPOP Cover and all is well.
Here's a pic of mine with the hole worn in the tube. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ke62qgdxe...ics/Tube_2.jpg Last edited by PHYRMN; 01-12-2013 at 05:47 PM. |
