2003 6.0 random start issue?

I have a 2003 6.0. 123,000 with new hpop and 1 year old batts. Ben having an issue with cold start. It doesn't get very cold here, night time lows are 45 to 50. Doesn't happen all the time but is increasing in frequency. Ill let it crank for about 6 seconds then turn the key off and run it through the wait light again. Usually will start within the next six seconds, however under normal instances, it will start within 3 seconds on the first try. When it does start, it gives a nice puff of white smoke witch promptly goes away, I assume from unburnt fuel. I believe it could be the ficm, but don't currently have a volt meter to check it. What else should I test or check for?

Must be that time of year. Lots of cold start issues on the forums!

Check your ficim and let us know. 45 volts or better!
