Scared...whats this smell ????

hey guys,
just bought a 2007 f350 a couple days ago, put about 150 miles on it so far,
im fixinf to take it on a 300 mile round trip tomorrow so i thought i would change all the filters and oil......
when i checked the coolant tank i noticed it smelled like Karoseen ? also looked like stuff might of been flaoting in it.......the stuff looked like it was the same color ?

where do u think the smell came from, i have had no prob driving the last couple days...do u think its safe to take on this trip ???

Possibly a head gasket issue? Combustion gases in the coolant?

Fuel in the coolant, injector cup problem, or cracked head. Not good.

Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get.

Unfortunately had to Sell my ......2004 KR CC SWB FX4 - Edge insight cts, blue spring upgrade, updated HFCM drain plug, XDP coolant filter, CAT EC-1 rated coolant, Custom Diesel EGR delete, CAT delete, Rotella T6

Any possibility to take a picture of the coolant for us to take a look? Maybe the coolant is way past overdue and needs a complete flush of the system.

If it has a kerosene smell to it than you most likely have cracked heads at the fuel rails or leaking injector cups. Either way you aren't looking at a quick easy fix.

If your going on that trip I would recomend picking up a scangaugeII or other monitor and keep a close eye on your temps. Mebe even stop every couple of hundred miles and let it cool down and check your fluids.

Lord I shall lead them to the water but I will not try to make them drink

There isn't a fuel heater on these trucks. You either have a cracked head or a loose/cracked injector cup.
