Tell him you want all your money back or your taking him to court. There is no way I would spend $22,000 on a truck and not even make it out of the state on my way home and blow the motor in it and not go right back to that guy and get my money back.

I don't have money for a lawyer...I wish I had the money. I could get the $2k and still work on this emissions thing. I really need a truck to go to work. Has anyone used performance machine & mfg. before, they have a short block for $2695.95? The shop around here in Beltsville, Md. is charging me $3k for the install.

i dont think the feds really care who knows what! its the states that need to enforce it.pa just changed there inspection law and sent us the memo. all state inspectors in pa must make sure that all emission control devices are on diesel trucks now, if not they dont get state sticker. also in the memo was this. if the dealer takes a truck that doesnt have emissions on it before the dealer can even wholesale it,it has to have everything on it.

did you buy this truck AS IS ?
i think there is a law in pa that protects the consumer from exactly this! ill check tomarrow in sales for you. they may have to pay for this motor

Yeah, I bought it as is...the guy says he is not a dealer. I didn't sign anything stating the truck was as is however. I just came from the truck, I had it brought from Pa. to Md. so I could keep a better eye on the progress.

Take the $2000 that the guy said he would give back to you and retain a lawyer and go after that d-bag. No reason you should be having to foot the bill for his junk.

Tuscany is right you need to talk to someone up here. i will ask tomarrow but it seems this guy new what was going on and stiffed you. He should pay for the entire motor and labor to put it in!!
