Front hub problems....Need help
So the other day I was trying to pull out a stump and my 4wheel drive didnt work until i locked my hubs. I tried putting in 4wheel with hubs and auto drove quite a few feet forward and reverse and still didnt lock in. My ac is fine it dont blow through the defrost when i put it in 4wheel drive. I even pulled the vacuum lines off the hubs and tried the 4wheel switch the ac still blows out of the vents not the defrost so i dont think its a vacuum problem. Any help would be great!!! Thanks in advance

pulling the vac line didn't do anything since the command to lock unlock only last a few seconds
did your hubs work ok manually switched to 4x4 ? did you dash light illuminate 4x4? |

Yeah I've been looking for solutions for the fix. I even changed out my hubs from my buddy's truck that 4wheel was working in auto. Still have the same issue and his works fine in auto with my old hubs. I don't know what to try next. I don't want to take it to a dealer unless I absolutely have to.

sorry for the delay
you likely have a problem with the ESOF solenoid, a vac seal in the front axle or a broken vac line |

if you have a vac tester like a mighty vac that would be the best to isolate the issue
start by applying vac to each hub by using the OEM splice in the vac tube near the knuckles |

Ok thanks for the info. I'll give the vacuum pump a try. With the vacuum pump I should hear the hubs lock in right? Just a little more info on my troubleshooting. I turn the key to run position (truck not running) and shift the ESOF to 4wheel hi and low and you can hear the tcase making noise. So by that I'm assuming my ESOF solenoid is working and also dash light comes on as well.
