Another option for FICM troubles - ficmfixer.com
Howdy everyone -
If your FICM ever bites the dirt, take a look at FICMfixer.com. They offer basically the same service as Ed at FICMrepair, but slightly cheaper.
I ended up using FICMfixer.com this past week when my FICM went downhill. I needed a quick turnaround and talked with Ed first, but he didn't have any cores he could send out to me. Someone told me about FICMfixer.com, and I realized that they were local (~50mi away), so I gave them a call. I dropped the unit off at 8pm Tuesday night and he fixed it while I waited. Plugged it back in yesterday, and she's running like a top!
FYI, I also looked at the BPD unit, but decided to go this route because it saved me $450. Worst case, if the FICM ever goes out again, I can go with BPD at that time.
Not taking anything away from Ed or BPD, because I know that they do great work... just pointing out that there are other options, especially for those of you who are local to the DFW area.
