I have a 03 that has a new motor. The truck will not start, shop said that there was a bad fitting under one of the valve cover. Will this cause it not to start. Thanks
If they are talking about the connections for the High Pressure oil system then yes that can keep the injectors form working. The PCM has to see a ICP reading of 500 psi min. for it to tell the FICM to fire the injectors.
I would suspect the orings in the hose to be bad, not necessarily the fitting. With that said, I don't know if the orings are available, or the fittings and hose come as a set. There are two fittings for each hose under the valve covers. These are on the 03 and early 04 MY, and they are a version of the famed stc fitting. "stc" printed right on the side. "snap - to - connect". They work like quick connect fittings you see on air hoses. The thing is, they see 500-3000 psi.
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get.
