a buddy of mine has a 03 6.0 psd same as mine he has no mods but says he has no problems burning the rubber off his tires if he wanted to. i had the same setup but could not spin anything over. it acts like it tries but thats as far as it goes, it will not spin. it was a small 265/75/16 maxxis mudder too. it is also pretty sluggush when its cold and hasnt warmed up also. do i just need to buy a programmer to fix my problem or should i looked into. i have a 3.73 gears and was hoping that it was just positive traction not letting me spin my tires but i think i have been in denial long enough. i have changed out fuel filters but never my air filter which is probably over due i have only had the truck for a year. fuel filters and air filter will get changed tomorrow. truck was geting about 16 mpg, i put 38" tires and im getting around 13. tell me what you think. thanks

when my 04 was stock it could powerbreak the tires all day long. with out problems. but from a stop and just punching it it wouldnt spin. that takes a tunner of some sort.

If you can't powerbrake you have serious issues. I could powerbrake my Toyota 4-Cly 4X4 when I was in high school. Spinning the tires from a dead stop though takes a little more power, I agree with Bobby on needing the tuner. My first Superduty would spin the tires stock if I was turning, then came the intro POWER. I havn't had a stock PSD since...

I hate to alarm you but.
My truck is stock other the the 4'' TB exhaust, intake, 8'' lift and 37'' tires. I could power break and spin the tires easily. however if my truck was cold I couldnt spin my tires for the life of anything. and even trying to acclerate while cold just did happen. infact I couldnt get out of my driveway sometimes while cold. The fix: I took my truck to the dealer told them what it was doing, they took it in for warrenty work and replaced #4 and #6 injectors, Pulled and replaced the clogged EGR valve, and replaced my GPCM something to do with Glow plugs (small computer) Since then, It has run flawless, and has lots of power when cold. does not feel sluggish anymore and runs very smooth. However with out warrenty you could be looking at $2000 - 3000 for that to be done. maybe look in to aftermarket injectors if they need to be done. and you dont have warrenty to cover you. |

do you think it would tell me anything if i hooked it up to a computer or would i need to get ford to look at it? i have less than 100,000. so warranty should cover it right?
