Hub seal....

Has anybody pulled their hubs and not had to replace the seal? An if you did can you do it with out the seal installer? Maybe using the hub to put the seal in evenly?

That seal is a ***** to get on, even with the seal installer and the axle in the vise you still have to use a 4lb sledge to hammer it on.

not saying it can't be done but I cannot imagine another way to get on. plus that installer is also used to start the seal/axle into the knuckle and position it at it's proper depth before installing the hub
