Inside of fuel filter housing

Quick question... Just put the blue spring kit on this afternoon, pulled the fuel filter out and when i was messing around in there noticed that the spring loaded black piece (fuel return valve maybe) seems to turn about a quarter of a turn. I moved it and dont remember where it was originally set. Seems like it has grooves or openings of diff. sizes depending on how far you turn it. Does it matter where this piece is set at or will it "find its way back home" ?

yeh, that's the one. The top section of it turns halfway or so where the grooves are.... like it can be adjusted or something

I don't think so, but they have been known to brake off so you should keep it in your favorites.
