Weird Issue After EGR Delete & New Turbo
I have 2005 F250 6.0 Liter Diesel truck with a strange problem no one can seem to figure out. I just had my turbo go out and my EGR cooler was leaking, so I had the turbo replaced and did an EGR delete on the truck due the number of problems I have had with this EGR system. After getting it back from this work, I have this jolt/jerk happening about every 3-4 days when I am coasting up to a stop sign or stop light. Generally this happens at speeds of 20-25 MPH. It makes some kind of whining noise that sounds like it is coming from the left hand side and bottom of the engine and it will do this for about 4-6 seconds, and then the whole truck jerks for a brief second, makes a terrible sound (first time it happened I thought my engine fell out or something) and then the whining goes away and it does not do it again for another 3-4 days. I have had it in the shop 3 times now, it won't replicate with a mechanic looking at it, and they have ran the computer diagnostic on it and everything seems to be running perfecting, engine, transmission, ABS. Thoughts?

I read a post about some one whose truck, or neighbors, was surging like that. Don't remember if it made a sound with it but he mentioned it surged straight into the garage door. Sounds like a similar issue. Everyone thought he was nuts.. Its in here somewhere.

wonder if it's an accessory drive noise. maybe like a powersteering pump or A/C compressor locking up.
Not too sure about this one. Let us know what you figure out. |

Yes, I think people are starting to think I am nuts too because only myself, my wife and son have heard/felt it. I will search for that other post because I am at a loss. If I figure it out I will definitely post in here.

searching "surging forward"
Most issues were resolved with an ICP sensor or icp harness. The random-ness of it does sound electrical. Chaffed ICP harness grounding out from time to time? |

Color Me Confused
The issue just stopped happening. It had seemed like it was not jerking as hard the more time that passed, then about 2 weeks ago it just stopped doing it all together. No idea, but I am going to get my camper out of storage on Friday so I hope it is ready for that!

Those are the worst kind of problems....the kind that simply go away.
