Keep trying. Eventually, you will get it. I know it doesn't feel like it will, but keep trying and it WILL come out. Maybe go have a beer and come back to it.

I kept prying up on mine and it came out. Then went to parts store and bought a new one cause I bent it. Pull as straight up as possible.

Sent from my smart phone that seems dumb compared to my wifes new phone...

That's what I did when I couldn't get mine. I think I may have had a few by the time it finally popped free!

just keep prying on it and it'll come out. I remember the first time I pulled mine out. It sure was covered in soot. $400 sounds a bit high to me I'm sure you can find one cheaper somewhere.

I had this problem if you twist if side to side for about a min while pulling up this will give you some room. Then I put a flat head screwdriver in between the housing and the EGR and slowly worked it out.

if it's that stuck in there it's probably time for replacement anyways
