Quick question
I have an 06 Ford 6.0L that has had plenty of problems lately. The FICM is being repaired at ficmrepair.com (super nice people) and I have to replace the starter as well. My question is should I check my EGR valve while I am waiting on the FICM? I want to try to alleviate any further problems with this truck so that when I put it together I don't have crawl under it again anytime soon. I know how to check the EGR valve so is this a good idea? btw...Thanks to everyone who has helped me figure out what is wrong with my truck. New to the diesel world but I have learned alot in the past 3 weeks!

Just finished cleaning and reinstalling the EGR valve. That wasn't so hard
When I took it out it had a bit of soot on it, am I correct that dry soot is "good soot"?
