Truck leaped foreward

Next door neighbor's 04 has been in the shop for a week trying to figure out why it will all of a sudden while stopped..foot on brake...the truck leaps forward and rpm's leap to 2500-3000rpm. Truck will shut off. After restart it will run normal till it happens again.

He brought the truck home after the shop found nothing wrong. While parking it in his driveway it did it again and into his garage door.

What will cause this

The ips, ipr which ever its called, I can never keep it straight. Anyways, on the 04, its behind/under the turbo. it can be changed with the turbo on, did it on my dads. Although you may have to remove your forearm bone to get back there. Haha
