im looking at trading in my 99 7.3 on a 06 6.0 with 123k on it with new head gaskets from form the only miles on the head gaskets are from my test drive. i had them test the injectors and that came back fine too. the ruck is a one owner brought at the same dealer new. i was wondering what your thoughts on this was. also what else would possibly need to be done to the truck beside head studs, injectors, fcim and hpop? the fcim and hpop should be ok til i program it right? thanks

I would look into swapping the EGR cooler for a Bulletproof EGR cooler or get a EGR Delete. In my experience with the 6.0 I have blown 2 head gaskets, EGR Cooler, Oil Cooler, FICM, and a Fan Clutch. Mine is a 2004. Some people on these forums have some good threads on how to bullet proof you engine so you don't run into these common problems; however, it's going to cost you $$.
