sputter black smoke

i started my 05 f350 after school and it was sputtering and surging while spitting black smoke then went away the problem worked itself out but each time it took longer any ideas? no codes

If it went away idk but it kinda sounds like egr valve is bad. I would check that. But no codes doesn't make sense

Vanes sticking in turbo coulda started with egr valve I'm thinking.
Clean Valve an try running it hard might free the vanes up.
