Intermittent Problem

From time to time when idling the little battery light on my dash lights up, then when you give the truck rpm if goes off. Sometimes it goes off at 900rpm sometimes it goes off at around 1500 rpm. Not every time it's idling does this happen, very intermittent. I was thinking alternator or regulator but not sure because it doesn't always do it. Has anyone else encountered this problem. The truck is a 04 6.0 with no mods. Thanks

You may want to check your serpintene belt and tensioner. If the belt is streatched it may be slipping sometimes. The same for the tensioner if it is weak it will allow the belt to slip.

Alternator

Have your alternator checked. This was happening with mine and turned out to be a bad alternator.
