Hose at rear of engine ??????

I have a orange rubber hose with a foil shield that attaches to what appears to be a brass barbed nipple at the rear of the engine on the drivers side behind and below the turbo. The hose appears to be about 1" in diameter, whats this for?

My first thought would be EGR cooler hose,

But the location dosen't sound quite right, EGR cooler hose dosen't connect to a brass nipple and has no foil shield. So this is probably a useless post for you, haha
