Water Pump replacement
So i go outside after it is cold and notice a small puddle of antifreeze under the center of the truck that has dripped onto the front axle. It appears to be coming from the weep hole on the water pump. I notice that it stops leaking when the truck has warmed up, and the leak is only visible when the truck has been parked in the driveway overnight. SO the question would be?
1. Does anyone have any detailed instructions for the removal of the water pump and installation?
2. Do i have to put all of the flippin'''' shrouds back on the front motor/radiator when i get done?? those things make it a pain in the rear to work on the truck or even change the belt..... Could i just leave the front 1/2 of the shroud that attatches to the radiator and leave off the back 1/2.
3 has anyone heard of the Bullet proof diesel repalacement waterpump that uses the aluminum fins instead of plastic? (its supposed to last a lot longer and be stronger) Or would you just go with the stock one?
4. DO they re-build the pumps or just manufacture new ones? apparently there is not a core charge at the dealership, so i was just wondering.
Any info would be appreciated.
thanks
