Fuel Gauge

Wanted to get ya'lls opinion on this. I did a search but really did not come up with a good answer.

My Fiance just called me and said the truck is reading empty on the gauge. I know for a fact it had 3/4 tank this morning. Said she got to the gym turned the truck off then turned the key back on and the fuel gauge went up to 3/4 but then fell back down after a min to "E".

What can be causing this???

I was reading about a bad sending unit but it really did not fit the description. I normally run Diesel Kleen in every tank but have not for the last 3 tanks because I keep forgetting to pick some up.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Mine does it too every now and then I just deal with it cause after it uses more fuel it starts reading correctly again. It sucks but till I find a fix it is going to stay like that.

I put some diesel Kleen in my tank with some fuel and also cleared the codes with my livewire. Everything seems to be fine, going to monitor the milage and make sure the gauge is working correctly
