Lack of power when towing?

Hey folks, wifes 2005 F350 6.0 has started loosing power and not downshifting when towing, the tow haul light comes on but its not down shifting until she floors it?

Any idea's
Also, I have an Airriade on my truck so its easy to get on and off, how to you pull the stock filter off? I just screwed with it for a few and couldnt get it off?

Have you checked the basics, like full of clean oil, fuel filters, pull the egr valve and clean it. Just some ideas.

Yea, checked those. She also states when she is towing from a dead stop the tranny studders?

Turned out to be a bad VGT which they say cuased the EGT to fail?

It runs fine now.
