First it is not turbo whine. The whistling noise happens when I left off the accelerator. It only happens when the truck is warmed up also. I think it might be this "wastegate" - I just do not know enough about turbo's. To me it has to have something to do with the turdo. Please let me know and I appreciate everyones input in advance.
It started making noise today doing about 75 but another problem we have is the struck spu5ters when going down the road and now doesnt even want to take off any more even when pegged down to the floor
My 05 never whistled I had to buy new turbo had it put on now whistles when I start it very loud and quits when I hit throttle help please I'm going crazy
My 2006 F250 is making the same noise under the same conditions. A whistle - like a flute, only when coasting not during acceleration. I also noticed the DeGas tank was empty or close to it. After topping it up (about 1 gallon), I was able to pressure test the DeGas and it was about 1PSI, is this normal, high or? I have no appreciable smoke - white or other wise.
I topped up the DeGas but have not driven it yet, so I don't know what will happen, I see no sign of leaking antifreeze. Is the pressure test valid with a cold engine or does it need to be hot? Since I am the second owner no way to know if it has been programmed.
Where to buy a new DeGas cap? I am in the sticks, a ford dealer, NAPA, Checker? any part number? I'll begin with that.
With out a cap you will loose dluid i did but that dosent mean anything is wrong. Get a new cap then I'll bet your coolant level will stay in the ok range.
