Thud when I take off in drive
I have an 04 f350 dually and occasionally when I take off in drive there is a thud sound right under the cab. Could it be the transfer case or tranee? It doesn't do it all the time but on an occasion it will.

Trans mount? Universal joint?

I don't think it's a u-joint because you get about 5 feet then it makes the thud noise.

I had the same issue. Turned out to be a bad upper ball joint which is very common on the Ford front end suspesion. Replace all four uppers and lowers the others are probably soon to follow.
