FICM module
I just spoke with the ford dealership and was told that the FICM is the probelm with my truck. I kind of find that interesting just because I took the thing in because the turbo isn't spooling up like it should. I know that some people have posted links on companies that will rebuild or fix the FICM for a whole lot cheaper than the $1,336.00 that the dealer wants to replace it for. Any information would be greatly appreciated..
thanks shane |

Shane, another option is Swamps Diesel who make 48v and 58v FICM replacement units that are upgraded with improved build quality among other improvements over the OEM units. My FICM voltage has is as low as 29.5 at start, and slowly climbs to 48.5 where it will stay as long as the truck is warm, with an occasional drop below 43. From what I understand, this is a sign of a failing FICM. I ordered a 58v unit from Swamps that will be here today. I'm anxious to get it installed and hopefully remedy my issue.

i was just looking at the Swamps Diesel 58 Volt FICM. I may end up going that route if i have to replace the dang thing. I will have to ask the stealership what the codes are and what the votage is for the unit on start up and when running. Like i said, i initally brought the truck in for the turbo not spooling up, and now all of a sudden the FICM isnt working. I've had this truck for two months and already had to fix the oil cooler (So i went with the bullet proof diesel cooler), the EGR blew (went with Sinister delete) and now apparently have issues with the FICM and the turbo. This truck is turning into a money pit.

I feel your pain
In october I bought my 04 F350 a week after I got it the EGR cooler went outand ended going with delete kit ,Still running rough when it first starts up but when it was cold out it just would not start up at all unless it was plugged in then she started fine and ran good so I took to a dealer and had the hole truck tested the told me that it was the FICM, So faar the trukc has cost me over 5 grand on repairs and it seems to never end I like to find my friend that told me that the 6.0 motor was a good motor and kick him in the nuts..lol but aside from that shes a great truck. just got to find a cheap FICM or cheap way to fix it .
