Diesel gage sticking

So I filled up my truck about a week ago. Let the pump shut itself off and did not top the tank off. 600+ miles per empty is cool to see. Anyway I have driven it everyday since then approximately 200 miles or so and the diesel gage is still at full. Does anybody know if this is from filling it up to full? Or from slushing of a full fuel tank? Do I have to drop the tank to get to the sending unit? Any help is appreciated.

Mine had a similiar problem ended up needing a sending unit, and yes the tank does need to come out to service the sending unit.

go to your local chevron station. There was issues with some fuels and deposits on sending units. Before you replace the sending unit, dump in a bottle of chevrons "techron" additive. Ford has a TSB on this. See if it helps at all...

There are no Chevrons near here that carry the additive. After I filled up I added Diesel Kleen. Has anybody had a problem with this additive? Can I use a different additive to fix my fuel gauge?

i had the same problem but mine was probably because i filled 'er up to the top of the neck, went and bought a new sending unit, before it got here i had to fill up so i filled 'er up to the top of the neck again thinkin what the heck, and the gauge actually started working again (maybe it was just dumb luck or all that fuel shook it loose)
