Should I see smoke???

I have a 2006 F250 that was just purchased a month ago. It is completely stock. I seem to have a very bad turbo lag on take off but it seems that everyone does. While driving last night I was in front of someone and when I got on it a little a saw smoke from the headlights behind me. I know when you add a programmer it will smoke heavily. Will you get some when you are on it hard even with out a programmer?

It is possible to get a little puff of smoke with no programmer. How ever I am no expert but I think the egr valve being clogged could cause you to have smoke coming out of the tail pipe as well. But you will want to check with marc or another tech on that.

I have been told and read that until your turbo catches up (turbo lag) that you will see smoke... but that the smoke should clear up quickly as the turbo catches up...

Ok, I just wanted to be cautious with it. I will not have this warranty for long.

If your worried and you have warranty now. Why not have it checked out. The only thing it will cost you is not having your truck for a couple days at the most.

This A.M. I noticed a lot of white smoke coming out of my exhaust during idle and acceleration, once the temp came up it quit. I have been getting a sweet smell every now and then. The EGT seems a bit high around 780 at 1500 RPM.. Any thoughts??
