No Power

Me and a buddy of mine went our Friday night in his wifes 05' 6.0L 4x4 Excursion when we went to pull out of the drive way he went to hit the gas and it did not go anywhere did not even rev the engine we sat there trying to go for about 1 min and finally it decided to go it worked fine we took the wifes to a movie and hopped back in the excursion and pulled out of the parking lot and went to pull on the highway and it decided to do the same thing we sat there for about 1-2 min kept trying and then it decided to go again it did this 1 more time that night at a stop sign. I was hopping maybe someone might have some idea why or what is going on with this 6.0 excursion he was saying he just had it in the shop and the his mech to change all the fluids in the excursion he was wondering if that maybe had something to do with it

My dad's '04 did this today. He kept hitting the throttle, and eventually it took off. Can you just unplug the egr and make it work? Fortunately he still has 400 miles until the warranty goes out, so it'll go to the dealer on Monday. I'll let yall know what they say
