ran batteries down and have problems since...

ok hp2700eres the story. my buddy was on his way home from ohio, and his batteries died when he got to albany Ny. he replaced them and drove till the truck shut off. i know it wasnt the best thing to do but he was out of state trying to get home with the wife and3 kids. long story short...i put a new alternator in and charged the batteries.

i checked the codes and p0603 came up. that has something to do with the keep alive memory. i cleared that and told him the truck just needs to relern.

since then the trany has a hell of a rev-slam going into 3rd.


now i have,

p2700
p0700
p0730

those have to do with eratic gear ratio. i assume thats because the computer knows the trany is skipping.

i read then when the p0603 code comes up it recommends getting the latest ecm flash.

is that all this truck needs or does it sound like he hert something by draining the batteries like he did

I'm not sure but I remember reading something that you could damage the FICM by running the driving with low batteries.

it isnt like the old days when a diesel would run all day as long as it was getting fuel..i hope that isnt the case for his sake..its going into the shop tuesday will see what they say
