After posting a question about the myriad of colors coolant can be....I now have a good riddle:
Here is what I am trying to piece together:
I looked under my rig a week ago and noticed clear fluid dripping off the passenger side / rear of the engine. If felt slippery and smelled like coolant, and thus my original thread about coolant colors.
Traced the leak and its coming from the bypass tube of the EGR (the rubber coupler hose actually).
Here is the riddle: it only leaks when I am parked facing up an incline (my driveway) and only when its VERY cold (its was 21 the day I noticed it) Parked my rig facing down hill..........no leak.....same temp outside. No leak at driving temp, datalogged with my SCT at 186*. Fill bottle is right between min and max lines.
Haven't pulled anything heavy or really stressed the engine temp or boost, just hwy driving.
PS. Anyone know if you can have a datalog field added to the SCT? I want to have EOT logging capability so I can see the delta between ECT and EOT to see if I have wrecked EGR and/or Oil Cooler.
