Info input on 99/03/& 07
Hey guys. I'm out truck shopping. Ok question for the 6.0 L. I'm looking at 3 trucks. One is a 2007 one is 2003 and last is a 99.
So the 03 I've noticed a few thi gs. Like the turbo is starting to leak oil between or center. So I know on my other truck it wasn't too long before a new turbo. So what are some things to look for in these years? I'll start a new thread for the 99 7.3L but for the 07 6.0 and the 03 ant help be great. All are in km The 07 is 170000km the 03 is 149000km and the 99 is 253000 km The 07 it wouldn't start. Think the hpfp or whatever it's called. I'll find out soon what they fixed on it All are hard to find what there history on. So all are a gamble. K thank guys and lol forward to your input |

My dad has a 2003 7.3 with twice the miles of my 2004 6.0 and about 90% fewer problems but less power, fuel economy, etc. If you have the money to fix the 6.0L weaknesses go with that but the 7.3 will give you more trouble free miles w/o mods if it has been properly maintained. If you go with the 6.0, get the 07. The early build motors aren't so great. I have one. Just my humble opinion.

i have an 03 F350 6l great engine but myne had been over hauled when i bought it. as said if u have the money to fix the problems on the 6l u will have a solid engine. The 7.3 u can praticly rebuild for the same cost as doing the heads and egr cooler and oil cooler on a 6l.

If it were me and those were my choices I would go with the 2007 BUT that is assuming that you get the Oasis report and that they figure out / fix the no-start issue.
