I DONT HEAR MY FUEL PUMP PRIME ON START

SHOULD I BE WORRIED ABOUT MY FUEL PUMP?
I REMEMBER WHEN I USED TO TURN MY TRUCK ON AND I WOULD WAIT TO HEAR THE FUEL PUMP PRIME FUEL TO START BUT NOW I DONT HEAR IT AT ALL! I ALSO NOTICED THAT I HAD A SMALL LEAK COMING FROM THE FUEL REGULATOR.. IF I REPLACE SEALS AND UPGRADE SPRING WITH THE KIT AVAILABLE, WILL THAT TAKE CARE OF LEAK AND WILL I BE ABLE TO HEAR MY FUEL PUMP PRIME AGAIN OR SHOULD I BE CONCERNED THAT IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING ELSE.. I WOULD APPRECIATE ALL THE FEEDBACK.THANK YOU

It still runs n cranks up fine except of course on real cold mornings but I dont hear fuel prime like I used to before starts I have no idea what it could be and like I said I do know it's leaking fuel from the fuel regulator housing

I did the 6.4 Fuel banjo bolt upgrades to my '05 and now I don't hear the prime up pump either ??

When I quit hearing mine I lost my pump within 10 miles. I don't know how long it was doing it for wasn't paying attention until one morning. Then barely got home and it went out.

I would fix the fuel leak for sure. My fuel pump was making a bunch of funky grinding type noise so I replaced it even though it was still running. I would say if you are concerned about it, replace it. I found mine on ebay for $199 new. If your fuel pressure is not right, your injectors could get damaged. Thats why I just replaced mine. It wasnt worth the risk.

Thanks for all the feedback I'm learning plenty from this forum this is my diesel truck I've had but taking me a while to learn to know thus engine.. I'll take a look at maybe a new fuel pump,
