I'm new to the forum as well as a 1 day owner of a 04 f350. The truck has
37k miles on it... I picked the truck up yesterday and drove it for about an hour or so and noticed a little white smoke so i read up and thought it may just need some diesel injector treatment, I confirmed this with the local ford dealer. Well today I drove it about an hour away and on the way home it started pumping out so much white smoke that I couldn't see behind me... Also lost a considerable amount of power... I parked it and shut it off and noticed that there was oil in the exhaust as well as under the hood.... The truck is factory w/ no mods what so ever... I left the truck b/c I didn't want to take a chance w/ it... Any suggestions of what is going on and what to do? I'm thinking it could be a turbo gone bad....?????

has the truck recently been worked on I.E (injector work)????
sounds like a injector o-ring problem...were are you from?? what state?? reason i ask is because if your close enuff,i have a scanner.. |

Did you pick it up at a dealer?
EGR is probably shot |

I live in virginia... It had its 30k mile service done at the ford dealership in greensboro, nc... I bought it from an individual... Thanks for the offer harley1rocker... No check engine light came on...

I'd call the dealer you bought it from and have them come get it! At their cost! They all now must provide a warranty like 500 miles or 30 days minimum, If it was an individual I would stop payment on the check!

I have no knowledge of diesel engines I'm getting it towed home so I can figure it out... I'm hoping it isn't anything major or costly...

You just put a few ounces of Injector cleaner in right?

I put in 8 ounces as the directions said...

I've used Lucas oil Upper Cylinder Lube & injector cleaner for Diesel in mine twice when injectors are a little rough and it's worked great,,use rough, I use Power Kleen regularly when I can remember to put it in,,

Is the water in the fuel light on? White smoke indicates water was the truck fully warmed up when it began Really blowing white smoke or was it still a cold engine?
