06 Starter mount broke twice

I have an 06 6.0L. At 68k the bottom bolt fell out of the starter and it torqued back and cracked the mounting point on the starter. I was in a jam and the dealer fixed it for a large sum of money. Well it just happened again at 86k miles. I went back to Lake Elsinore Ford and they said they have no idea why it would happen, they said they would inspect it for $105. I told them to #@&^ off! I was able to pull the outboard top bolt out and pull the starter back flat against the transmision and put a new bolt in it to get home.

Has anyone had this happen or heard of this?

When you get it fixed us the cleaner and loctite but there must be a reason for them to come out.

a good welding/machine shop can weld cast iron or aluminum. weld the broken mount back on and use the loctite primer and loctite. might want to torque them to spec for insurance. or replace the bolts with studs and never worry again. studs plus tighten the wee out of them
