Exclamation 04 power and smoke problems

i have a 04 f-350 with a 6.0 the problem i am having is it has no power and blows greyish white smoke out the tail pipe, then it takes off and runs fine then back to smoke and no power then fine again. i am unable to pattern the problem. i recenctly replaced my icp censor and wiring harness for it. does anyone have any ideas

Sounds like your turbo vanes could be sticking...that would explain the lack of power and smoke...what kind of PSI are you building during acceleration?

Could be an EGR issue... A friend of mine had the same issue with his '04 so he did the EGR delete kit and it fixed the issue completely.

You need to get a scanner on it. See what codes are in it. It's pointless to throw parts at it.

I unpluged the egr but that didn't make a difference. I'm going to try a scanner and hope that will find the problem
