Fuel Filter Changed

I changer my fuel filters this week after 15000 miles the truck had hesitation. Now the truck has more power. The filters were not dirty looking. If the filters were black I could understand why but it looked clean. Why did this make the hesitation go away?

Just because they didn't look dirty doesn't mean they weren't. I'd say there was enough in them to restrict flow.

I thought the filters would be black if they were dirty.

I've had filters with 10k on them that looked fine, no black look to them.

From now on every 10,000 miles they will be changed. I can't get over the difference with new filters.

So, if I'm going 50,000 miles on a fuel filter I'm doing pretty good? I use either Baldwin or Motorcraft. Can't complain on the Motorcraft, mechanic friend gave me six sets free.
