one more question for the experts

ok i replaced all the injectors in my truck which resolved the issue of surging and bucking...now after about 750 miles of ppppeeerrfect operation i got a p0299 code, my question is i removed my cat last year and had an exhaust back pressure code, can the lack of a cat throw a p0299 code?? thanks in advance...
